Dr. Ali Hazrati
MD, MSc, FRCSC, FACS
Dr. Ali Hazrati (MD, MSc, FRCSC, FACS) is a general and fellowship trained bariatric surgeon in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He received an MD from Tehran Azad Medical University and his MSc in experimental surgery from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
Dr. Hazrati completed his general surgery training at McGill University, and his fellowship in laparoscopic bariatric and upper GI surgery at the renowned Lvy League institute, Stanford University located in California.
He specializes in Bariatric surgery and in the treatment of obesity.
Dr. Hazrati is in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and remains an active member in the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric surgery (ASMBS), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO).
His research interests are in areas of bariatric surgery; in particular, studying minimally invasive revision surgery and outpatient sleeve gastrectomy. In combination with his educational background, and his demonstrated history of working in the health care industry, Dr. Hazrati aims to transform patient lives by providing them with a healthier, happy lifestyle through the Gastric Sleeve surgery.
Dr. Hazrati ensures patients that he will be with them throughout their entire surgical journey, and work in collaboration to provide the utmost comfortable, informative patient experience.
Dr. Hazrati holds hospital privileges at Scarborough General hospital, and has been a member of the Division of General Surgery at Scarborough General since 2011.
Dr. Hazrati is fluent in English, Farsi, and French.
